Car Emergency Kit UAE: Jump Starter, Tyre Inflator, Dash Cam
Updated · 5 min read
Short answer: two things get you moving again without waiting for help: a portable jump starter for a flat battery, and a tyre inflator for a soft tyre or after driving on sand. Add a front and rear dash cam in case of an accident, a phone holder with a charger for navigation, and a small vacuum for the sand. All of these are coming soon in our car gadgets range, and you can reserve them on WhatsApp.
The kit at a glance
| Item | When you need it | What to look for |
|---|---|---|
| Portable jump starter | The battery is flat and there is no second car | Smart safety clamps, a USB port to charge your phone |
| Portable tyre inflator | A low tyre, a slow puncture, or after letting air out for sand | Digital gauge, stops by itself at the pressure you set |
| Dash cam, front and rear | An accident, or a dispute about what happened | Loop recording, saves the clip on impact |
| Phone holder with wireless charger | Navigation on long drives | Firm grip, charges while it holds |
| Fast car charger | Two phones, one socket | USB-C plus USB-A |
| Cordless car vacuum | Sand in the mats and between the seats | Crevice tool, washable filter |
It is also worth carrying a few things we do not sell: a warning triangle, a small fire extinguisher, a first-aid kit, drinking water, and a tow strap if you drive in the sand.
Jump starter: start a flat battery on your own
A jump starter is a portable battery pack with clamps. You connect it to your car battery and start the engine, with no second car and no jump leads. The usual steps are: switch everything off, clamp red to the positive (+) terminal and black to the negative (–) terminal or a bare metal point, switch the pack on and start the car. Then remove the clamps, black first. Always follow the manual for your unit. Big engines need a stronger pack, so tell us your car and engine when you reserve.
Heat matters here. A parked car in a UAE summer gets very hot, and lithium batteries do not like heat. Keep the jump starter out of direct sun (in the boot, never on the dashboard), check the storage temperature in its manual, and recharge it every few months. If the case swells, stop using it.
If your car battery keeps going flat, it may be near the end of its life. Heat is hard on batteries, so have it tested.
Tyre inflator: the right pressure, anywhere
Set the pressure on the screen and the inflator stops by itself when the tyre gets there. Use the pressure on the sticker in the driver's door frame or in your owner's manual, not the maximum number printed on the tyre. Check tyres when they are cold, before you drive.
If you let air out to drive on sand, pump the tyres back up to the normal pressure before you drive on the road. Never drive at road speed on low pressure. The tyre can overheat and fail.
An inflator also helps with a slow puncture: top up, then drive gently to a tyre shop. It is no fix for a cut tyre or a blow-out. Use the spare or call for help.
Dash cam: recording, and what to do with the footage
A front and rear dash cam records the road ahead and behind on a loop, recording over the oldest clips. When it senses a hit, it locks that clip so it is not recorded over. To record while the car is parked, the camera has to stay powered with the engine off, which usually means a hardwire kit. Ask us on WhatsApp before you order if you want parking recording.
- Mount the front camera behind the rear-view mirror, so it does not block your view.
- Use a memory card made for constant recording, and format it in the camera every month or so.
Do not post clips that show other people or number plates on social media. Sharing them can break UAE privacy laws. If you need the footage after an accident, give it to the police or your insurer.
Phone holder and charger
Mount the phone where you can glance at it without looking down, and set the route before you move. A holder with a wireless charger charges the phone while it navigates. A fast car charger with USB-C and USB-A charges two phones from the 12 V socket. Never hold the phone while you drive.
Sand: the vacuum
A cordless vacuum with a crevice tool gets sand out from between the seats and around the seat rails, where it scratches and squeaks. Take the mats out and do both sides. See how to clean car floor mats.
