Keep Your Car Cool in UAE Summer: Sun Shade, Covers, Tips

Short answer: stop the sun getting into the cabin. A reflective sun shade cut to your windshield is the simplest fix. Next, protect what you touch and what the sun damages: the steering wheel, the dashboard and the seats. If the car stays outside for days, use a full car cover. And never leave lighters, aerosol cans, power banks or medicines in a parked car in summer.
What heats up a parked car
Sun comes in through the glass and heats the dashboard, seats and steering wheel, and they hold on to that heat. The windshield is the biggest piece of glass, so covering it matters most. Dark surfaces get hottest. The roof and doors also take in heat from outside.

Sun shade: get one cut to your windshield
A universal folding shade leaves gaps at the edges and around the mirror, and the sun comes straight through them. A shade made to your windshield covers the glass edge to edge, and the sun visors hold it in place. Put the reflective side facing out. When you drive, fold it into its bag so it does not slide around the cabin. To order a custom shade, send us your car model and year on WhatsApp.
Dashboard and steering wheel
A dashboard that sits in direct sun for years can fade and crack. A dashboard cover cut for your model shields it and cuts the glare on the windshield. It should have openings for the vents, speakers and sensors, and it must leave the passenger airbag panel free.
A leather steering wheel cover fits standard 37–38 cm wheels. It protects the original wheel and gives a firm grip. A wheel still gets warm in the sun, so the sun shade does more. One more trick: when you park, turn the wheel half a turn, so the part you hold is out of the sun.
Insulation and window tint
The heat and sound insulation mat is a self-adhesive foil and foam sheet that goes inside the doors, floor, boot or roof. It cuts road noise and slows the heat coming through the panels. You have to remove trim panels to fit it, so unless you are used to that work, have a trim or car audio shop do it.
Window tint also helps, but the UAE has rules on how dark it can be, and they can change. Check the current rule with the police before you tint. We do not sell or fit tint film.
Car cover for long parking
If the car will sit outside for days, for example while you travel, a waterproof car cover keeps sun, dust and bird droppings off the paint. Wash or dust the car first. A cover on a dusty car rubs the grit into the paint every time the wind moves it. Use the straps on windy days. For daily parking, a sun shade is easier.
Never leave these in a parked car
In summer a closed car gets hot enough to make some things burst, leak or catch fire. Take these out:
- Lighters, perfume and aerosol cans (deodorant, spray paint, tyre sealant).
- Power banks, phones, laptops and lithium jump starters.
- Medicines.
Never leave a child or a pet in a parked car, not even for a minute.

Before you drive off
Open the windows for the first minute of driving with the AC on, to push the hottest air out. Then close them and switch to recirculate.
Questions
Does a sun shade really make a difference? Yes. It keeps direct sun off the dashboard, steering wheel and front seats, so they are cooler when you get in. A shade cut to your windshield works better than a universal one because it leaves no gaps.
Is the sun shade made to my car? The custom shade is made to your windshield size, so send us your model and year on WhatsApp. For the Jetour T2 and G700 we have shades cut for those windshields.
Can I leave a car cover on all summer? Yes, if the car is clean when you cover it and the straps are tight. Take it off now and then to check the paint.
